This policy explains how El Cronista Impostor (the “App”), developed by Francisco Lucas Ruiz (“we”), processes information when you use the game on the web (cronista-nu.vercel.app) or in the native apps (Android / iOS) that wrap that service.

1. Summary
- No account, email, or phone number is required to play.
- Online rooms store gameplay data (nicknames, roles, progress) on our backend (Supabase) so multiplayer works.
- An anonymous device ID stored on your device powers Premium and preferences—it is not your real name.
- On native apps (Android / iOS), if you are not Premium we may show Google AdMob ads (banners, interstitials, and optional rewarded ads). Premium removes advertising.
- We use Firebase Analytics (Google) for aggregated/pseudonymous usage and purchase measurement. Ad personalization, when applicable, is handled by AdMob and, on iOS, by App Tracking Transparency (ATT) when the system prompts for it.

3. Data we process
Gameplay data. Nickname, avatar, room code, spoken words, votes, and round state. Visible to other players in that room. “Pass the phone” mode runs largely on-device; multi-device mode syncs with the server.
Device identifier. A UUID created and stored locally, used to attach Premium status and preferences without a user account.
Premium purchases. Minimum data to verify payment: PayPal (web) or app-store (native) order/subscription IDs, product, and expiry when applicable. A restore code may be issued to move Premium to another device.
Local preferences. Language, sound, recent nicknames, and similar UI prefs stay on-device unless needed for gameplay.
Analytics (Firebase Analytics). On web and native apps we use Firebase Analytics / Google Analytics to understand gameplay and Premium purchases. We receive pseudonymous or aggregated events (for example session start, room created, begin checkout, or purchase completed), plus technical analytics identifiers (e.g. app instance ID).
Advertising (native apps only, non-Premium). On Android and iOS, if Premium is not active, we may show Google AdMob ads: banners on menu screens, full-screen ads at natural pauses (e.g. after a match ends), and optional rewarded ads (e.g. unlock a category or character for one hour). AdMob and Google may process advertising identifiers (Advertising ID / IDFA), device technical data, and ad interaction data under their policies and your consent (UMP in the EEA/UK; ATT on iOS when prompted). Premium users do not see ads. The web version does not use AdMob.
Technical logs. Hosting providers (e.g. Vercel, Supabase) may keep short-lived technical logs (IP, user-agent, errors) for security and operations.
Illustrative word images. To show a visual hint next to some words, our server may query third-party APIs (e.g. Wikipedia / Wikimedia or Openverse) using only the game word text, category, and tags. We do not send your nickname, device ID, or payment data to those services. When the image loads on your device, the browser may request the file directly from the image provider’s CDN (with referrerPolicy="no-referrer" where applicable).
4. Purposes and legal bases
- Providing the game (contract / legitimate interest): rooms, sync, kicks, public matchmaking.
- Premium purchases (contract): payment verification and entitlements.
- Stability and improvement (legitimate interest): Firebase Analytics and technical logs.
- Advertising (legitimate interest / consent where required): show AdMob ads to non-Premium users on native apps; manage UMP/ATT consent.
- Legal compliance when required by law.
5. Recipients
- Supabase — game / Premium backend
- Vercel — web hosting
- PayPal — web payments
- Apple / app store — in-app purchases
- Google (Firebase Analytics) — usage and purchase events for product analytics
- Google AdMob — ads on native apps for non-Premium users (subject to the Google Privacy Policy)
- Wikipedia / Wikimedia Commons and Openverse — search and hosting of illustrative word thumbnails (game text queries only; no account data)
We do not sell personal data. We share with AdMob/Google what is needed to serve ads to non-Premium users on native apps.
6. International transfers
Some providers may process data outside the EEA under appropriate safeguards (e.g. standard contractual clauses) as described in their documentation.
7. Retention
Room data is kept while needed for the service and cleaned according to backend rules (expired rooms, finished games). Device ID and Premium status remain while you use the App or hold an active entitlement. Technical logs follow each provider’s rotation policy.
8. Your rights
Where GDPR or similar laws apply, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, or portability, and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Spain, the AEPD). Contact: franciscolucas92@icloud.com.
Because there is no email-based account, please include your device ID or Premium restore code if you want us to locate related records.
9. Children
The App is a general-audience party game and is not directed at children under 13. Younger players should use it only with adult permission and supervision. Nicknames and in-game text are the players’ responsibility.
10. Security
Traffic is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS. We apply reasonable backend measures; no system is perfectly secure.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. The “last updated” date shows the current version. Material changes may be noted in the App or on this page.
